Specifically for the near or mid field situation but also suitable as a high quality monitor for the meter bridge, KSdigital introduces the C8 Coax, a further member of its coaxial monitor family. In co-operation with a German chassis manu-facturer, a new coaxial chassis has been developed. Already tested and proven in the C5- Tiny, carbon fibre was the material of choice for the membrane, as it provides an optimal combination of stiffness and minimal weight. This material permits a strong, dry bass on the one hand and a mid range free of distortion and partial oscillations on the other. The shape of the membrane for the bass/mid range drivers forms a wave-guide for the tweeter cone, thereby directing the sound evenly to the listening position. In this way, the individual room acoustics are partially neutralised, which is a great advantage in unfavourable monitoring situations.

With no vertical or horizontal axial offset, the C8 fills the listening position with an optimal impulse and thereby a clean frequency and phase reproduction in the sound. As a genuine point sound source, the C8 Coax permits a much larger freedom of movement at the mixing console without the danger of leaving the sweet spot and causing sound displacements by moving nearer to the high range or bass speakers. The usage of high quality materials, such as carbon fibre, fabric calotte or neodymium magnets result in outstanding acoustic qualities. Powerful output stages with a frequency characteristic of up to 100KHz provides for a direct conversion of the electrical signal into sound performance. Whether used as a high quality near field speaker in an audio or video editing suite or as a bridge monitor at a mixing console or in a transmission truck on the road – the Coax C8 is the uncomplicated tool for every production.
