For its application as a near field monitor (e.g. Meter bridge) or also in mid range, the C55 Coax represents a full range monitor. The com-bination of a 6.5” coaxial chassis with an integrated 1.45” fabric tweeter and the 6.5” bass chassis results in a full pressure, very deep reaching and effortless sound with full frequency control. The carbon fibre coax chassis from the highly successful model C5-Tiny offers an optimal combination of stiffness and minimal weight. This material allows a strong, dry bass on one hand and a mid range free of distortion and partial oscillations on the other. The shape of the membrane for the bass/mid range drivers forms a wave-guide for the tweeter cone, thereby directing the sound evenly to the listening position. In this way, the individual room acoustics are neutralised which is a great advantage in
unfavourable monitoring situations. With no vertical or horizontal axial offset, the C55 fills the listening position with an optimal impulse and thereby a clean frequency and phase reproduction in the sound. At the same time, the second 6.5” chassis relieves the coax driver in bass range and considerably reduces its displacement. In comparison to the C5- Tiny, the C55 Coax has twice the cabinet volume, which extends the frequency range downwards and permits the C55 Coax to be used as a full range, main loudspeaker. The usage of high quality materials, such as carbon fibre, fabric calotte or neodymium magnets result in out-standing acoustic qualities. Powerful output stages with a frequency characteristic of up to 100KHz provide for a direct conversion of the electrical signal in sound performance.
